Field and Stream is a great getaway close to the Mpumalanga Highland’s town of Dullstroom, a mere 2.5 hours from Johannesburg.

Field & Stream Accommodation in Dullstroom

The Lodge

The double story Lodge is the largest unit on the farm, sleeping up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are en-suite and there are 2 additional fully equipped bathrooms for the house. There is a fully equipped kitchen downstairs. The Lodge has a pool table, a dartboard and a TV (own card and decoder) upstairs, and a large fireplace downstairs for the cold winter evenings. A large verandah offers guests spectacular views over the hills and a cosy braai area with the option of having meals outside.

The Farmstead (Pet Friendly)

This is the original farmstead on the farm that was renovated to maintain some of its original character. It can sleep up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The unit has 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The lounge has a TV (own card and decoder) and a fireplace. A large verandah at the back of the unit provides wonderful views down the valley of the farm and is most often sheltered from the wind. With a braai area, the verandah is a great location for meals and spending time together. This unit is pet-friendly and is fully fenced.

The Nest (Pet Friendly)

The Nest is a 2-sleeper unit with 1 bedroom. It has an en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a TV (own card and decoder). It has a verandah with a braai area that is ideal for spending time outdoors enjoying the scenery. This unit is pet-friendly and is fully fenced.

The Nest is alongside the conference center and hence is well located for caterers or conference organisers.

Cormorant Cove (Pet Friendly)

Cormorant Cove is a 6 - 8 sleeper unit with two bedrooms downstairs and a loft that can accommodate 2 people comfortably, but up to 4 people. It has 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a fireplace. The verandah on this unit has a covered braai area and overlooks Meike’s mere , one of the farm’s 3 dams.  The unit s pet-friendly and is fully fenced.

Eagle Crest

Eagle Crest is a 6 - 8 sleeper unit with 2 bedrooms downstairs and a loft that can accommodate 2 people comfortably, but up to 4 people. It has 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The verandah on this unit has a covered braai area and overlooks Meike’s mere , one of the farm’s 3 dams.

 

Conferencing at Field & Stream

Field and Stream’s conference venue can accommodate up to 25 people, seated in a variety of configurations.

The conference room is well equipped with overhead projection motorised screen, plugs and cables, flip charts and pens, big screen TV, WiFi, and a backup generator. The conference venue has a fully equipped kitchen. The venue also has a braai area on a verandah adjoining the conference venue, overlooking the surrounding hills and valleys. A fire pit alongside the venue also offers the opportunity for evening socials.

Mid-morning and afternoon teas will be provided. We also offer team building.

 

Activities at Field & Stream

Fly fishing

Field and Stream has excellent trout fishing in 3 dams and along 4 km of the Witpoort River (summer fishing only on the river). Only fly fishing is permitted. Tuition is arranged for individuals or groups.

Field and Stream  Clay Pigeon Shooting

There is a clay pigeon shootng range at the top end of the farm. All equipment is provided for this activity and both novices and experts are welcome.

Exploring the farm through hiking, walking, mountain biking and birding

Field and Stream has a diversity of interesting places to explore. From a trip along the dirt road within the farm through to exploring the farm’s various tracks, the 4 streams and river, and its 3 waterfalls, one is never short of an adventure. The farm also boasts a great diversity of South Africa’s endemic grassland birds and historical Bushmen paintings and Boer war gun posts.
