Forest Creek Lodge nestles in a gorge of the Steenkampsburg Mountains, which is the end of the Drakensberg Mountain range. Set in a Private Nature reserve of the Mpumalanga escarpment. The gorge is softened only by a blanket of shrubs and trees which have grown in this malaria-free zone over millennia.

It is only when one gets to the gate of Forest Creek Lodge that the rock-strewn grassland is left behind, one climbs up, and up, and enter this little enchanted world.

Carmine luxury suite (Sleeps 2 adults and 2 small children)

This spacious suite supports a fireplace, DSTV, his and her out door stone showers, veranda, huge bath for two with lots of romantic candles. King size extra length bed.

SELF-CATERING OPTION'S

If you take the Self Catering option, you are welcome to book meals and activities at the lodge. Dinner is a 4 course meal - R300.00, and breakfast is R160.00 per person.

The Beach Cottage: Self Catering

Queen sized bedroom, with en-suite bathroom. A huge deck for outdoor entertainment. Fully equipped kitchen with a Gas braai on the deck and a Built in Braai for outdoor cooking. Fan, electric blanket and heater. Snuggle under our percale cotton duvets and linen.

Rates: R1 600.00 Per night self catering | This room falls under our 4 star grading.

Bee Eater (Sleeps 2 adults and 2 small children)

(King sized bedroom en-suite, fireplace, braai, DSTV, his and her out door showers, fully equipped)

Rates: 2 Guests per night: R1800.00 | This room falls under our 4 star grading.

Forest Cottage (Sleeps 2 adults and children)

(Queen bedroom en-suite, 1 single bedroom and a sleeper couch in the lounge, Fireplace, Braai, limited DSTV, fully equipped) 

• 2 guests per night: R 1600.00
• An additional R100.00 per night,  per person above 2 guests.

Sunbird Self Catering unit

(1 bedroom with a queen bed en suite bathroom, 2^nd bedroom with either a King sized bed with 1 bunk bed or 1 bunk bed and 2 single beds, en suite bathroom).

Rates: 4 adults per night - R3 200.00 | 2 Children 11 years and younger - R450.00 per child | This room falls under our 4 star grading.

Cancellation policy

• Cancellation more than 14 days prior - 25% of tariff
• Cancellation 7 to 13 days prior - 50% of tariff
• Cancellation less than 7 days prior - 100% of tariff
• A minimum charge of R100 or 15% will be charged for admin fees.
• Last minute amendments to bookings will not be credited.

 

Activities At Forest Creek Lodge & Spa

THE FOREST SPA    

Relax and be pampered in our small spa, treatments can be booked during your stay. In our Forest Spa, we use the all-natural TheraVine and TheraNaka products, which are produced in the Cape. TheraVine has grown over the years and are now supplying customers on an International scale.

Choose from a range of over twelve treatments. Couples massages are available, so book some quiet time with your "better half".

ELEPHANT INTERACTION

An elephant interaction at Elephant Whispers is a memorable and touching activity not to be missed. Visitors to the Centre experience life-changing moments when they encounter the elephants, the Elephant Whispers Team work hard to translate this into an understanding of the need for long-term, sustainable wildlife conservation, and elephant conservation in particular. Bookings must be made in advance.

CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING

Try your hand at shooting the clays with our 12 gauge shot gun, Price per shot R15.00 a minimum of 25 shots.

DUCK TARGET RANGE

This is a fun little target range, shot with an air rifle. R50.00  

THE BUSH BATH

This is literally a bath set in a private spot in the bush, we provide the bubbles, candles and towels, should you wish to order champagne please do so when booking your bath with nature. Price per bath R190.00

BIRD WATCHING

We have a prolific variety of uncommon species of Birds that can be seen, including a resident pair of Black Eagles. We have a Forest Creek bird check list, which I am sure the avid Birder can add to.  Wonderful photographic opportunity’s.

HIKING TRAILS

One of our unique activities at Forest Creek are the Hiking Trails in the “Cloud Forest” due to the flora and fauna growing in this magical unique environment. The trails are designed for the entire family, and are most suitable for the even not so fit person. Under this canopy of trees and at the edge of the Mountain one feels very small, in comparison to the magical views. The walk to the waterfall is approximately 2 kilometres, winding through the forest and criss crossing the stream in several places under the canopy of large indigenous trees.One is likely to hear the baboons barking and spot the odd bush buck or red duiker and see the Cinnamon Doves, Narina Trogon's and Lourie's that frequent the forest,.In the wetter months the ferns, orchids and wild mushrooms offer spectacular opportunities for the more photographic inclined. A tree platform built in a large fig tree above the forest canopy, is an ideal stop for birders or to just relax and enjoy a picnic!

JET SKI 

Bring along your own Jet Ski and enjoy a day of fantastic skiing on the Kwena dam. The dam is 12km away and 1200 Hectares in size. Picnic’s available. There is no charge, and parking is available for your trailers and Ski’s.
